Increased Maximum for Motor Vehicle Non-Economic Loss 19 November 2014 By NSW Compensation Lawyers The maximum amount of non-economic loss that can be awarded under s 133 of the Motor Accidents Compensation Act 1999 has been increased to $492,000.The maximum amount of past or future economic loss due to lost earnings or earning capacity that can be awarded under s 126 has been increased to $4,512 per week.These changes apply to all assessments of damages under the Motor Accidents Compensation Act 1999 made by the Claims Assessment and Resolution Service or the Court on or after 1 October 2014.See: Motor Accidents (Determination of Loss) Amendment Order 2014 Motor Vehicle
